Fire Sprinkler Inspection NJ

JT Fire Safety serves building owners in Somerville, Somerset County, and throughout New Jersey.

What JT inspects and tests

JT inspects and tests wet-pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, and deluge systems, including sprinkler heads, piping, risers, valves, gauges, water supplies, alarms, and related components.

Inspection is the visual check. Testing is the operational check required for that system.

New Jersey requirements

The New Jersey fire code sends inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems to NFPA 25. The NFPA 25 forms must comply with Annex B.

The New Jersey fire code also says a field-tested backflow preventer is tested annually, and a construction certificate does not replace the fire official’s forward-flow test.

The Division of Fire Safety bulletin notes that more frequent checks exist and that the annual inspection is work for a permitted contractor.

Scheduling and documentation

Call JT Fire Safety at (908) 333-2590 or use the contact page to schedule service. Frequency and the exact checklist follow the code and the system type.

After the inspection you receive a written record of what was inspected and tested and what was found.
